One poster here had a avatar of the Guy Fawkes in V For Vendetta with the diagonal line with a circle "Forbidden" symbol over it. I love that guy.
I guess V For Vendetta (despite the fact that Alan Moore hated the film) is now right up there with "The Matrix" as the Holy Film For Truthers.
(And,yes, I know the Warchowski's were behind both films.)

When JamesB put it up at SLC I immediately commented on how obvious it was that Barrett was doing this for the camera and not for the passers-by.

James also pointed to this amazing post at 9-11 Blogger (http://www.911blogger.com/node/12281) where they suggested that everybody dump a little "Truth" in the baskets of their local Trick Or Treaters.

I can't help but wonder how many parents aren't gonna let little Suzie or Johnny go to those houses next year. And all this time I thought Frankenstein was scary....:p

Well if you fail to convert the adults...then it's time to get really creepy and go for kids.

That would make a perfect opportunity to teach your children the definition of "trick", all in good fun of course

Next time I hear somebody saying that twooferism is peculiar to liberals, I will have to point out their fascination with the Guy Fawkes motif. Guy Fawkes is a hero only to anarchists, and that is quite a different breed of critter from a liberal.

Because the truth is more truthful when presented by someone dressed as fictional character.

That is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it, but it's scientific fact.

What I find remarkable is that he has a wedding ring on his left hand.

Surely you can't believe the official story that Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder conspiritors were religious terrorists. Clearly the plot was an inside job and Fawkes the government's fall guy. They needed to stage frame the catholics in order to persist with their campaign of persecution.

Barrett's wife is Moroccan, it ties into his conversion.

Actually, I would love for somebody to make a movie about the Real Guy Fawkes, using Antonia Fraser's Excellent book "Faith and Treason" as the basis.

I hated the movie "V for Vindaloo". Heck the 1984/5 "V" TV series was better.

I wish Alan Moore had the magic power of punching all the idiots buying the movie merchandise, instead of his awesome book.

Yeah, I heard all the hype about V for Vendetta, and how the Wachowski Bros.(not brothers anymore!) made a masterpiece that is right up there with the Matrix. needless to say...YAWN!..that movie was like watching paint dry to me and couldn't stand it until they began the awesome, yet brief scense of Matrix like action.

The Wachowskis are a one trick pony, and essentially ruined what could have become the greatest movie trilogy of all time with the drivel in reloaded, and the sheer disappointment for revolutions. The first movie was friggin sweet tho.

V for Vendetta was a fantastic comic book. I don't think the film did it any justice at all.
