Apparently Rosie is going to have a prime time Cable show on MSNBC.
Considering the body count of Hosts on MSNBC it might not be for long, though. Obermann is the only show on MSNBC that gets anything like decent ratings. Guess MSNBC finally figured out that all those four year old prime time Crime Documentaries were just not getting it done.
It will be interesting to see how heavy (no pun inteded) she pushes the 9/11 Woo. She seems to have stepped a little back from it but with no one to rein her in like she had on the View I have a feeling the Woo might well reign.
As long as there are three competing Cable News Networks, MSNBC will be #4.

Oh good grief. As much as I disagree with almost everything Olbermann says, he's at least well-informed, grounded in reality and very funny.
Rosie is none of those. This is going to be the video version of the Daily Kos comments section.

Olbermann is the only thing MSNBC has going for it at the moment. I swear, they hired him by sheer luck, considering their poor judgement with every other show they have on. Except for Olbermann, they are a joke in the ratings.
I wonder if they are going try to do what they did back in 2002 with Phil Donuhue, and try to become a "progresive" answer to Fox News. That flopped, largely because they hired lousy talent, and if Rosie is any indication they will do the same again.

I predict that Rosie will go all out for CT whackiness and try to be a female Alex Jones. She will have guests on to talk about chemtrails, Batboy and FEMA death camps haunted by the tormented souls of all the babies killed by vaccination. And the public will love it, she'll make another couple of million bucks and then she will be killed by some whacko who's theory she didn't publicise.
If this comes to pass, can I have my million bucks in string and batteries?

She is going up against Larry King and Sean Hannity.
I don;t like either of them..in fact I despise Hannity...but they both will kill her in the ratings.

I disagree with the Public will love it.TV Talk Shows built around Conspiracy do not do well in the ratings. And her personality has become obnoxious to many viewers for reasons having nothing to do with politics.
I expect a daily two minute hate against Donald Trumph, though.

Actually, I think she appeals to a completely different demographic than Larry or Sean (don't go there! LOL).
And when Larry finally retires and Wolf Blitzer grabs that hour, the battle for 9:00 will be between MSNBC and Fox. Will people who've been watching Larry really go to Hannity before they go to Rosie?

As a longtime MSNBC watcher (it is my default cable news network), I am dismayed but not surprised. Don't forget the other flops like Curtis & Kuby, the Most, that Deborah Norville show, and what was that horrid show by Alan Keyes back in 2002? I just hope they do put it in the doc block slot. Usually as soon as Abrams is over, I switch right over to CNN for AC360 anyway.

Yeah, the feud between the two was somewhat amusing at first, but has worn out it's entertainment value and has become really tiresome.

Something else is going on. A network will not normally kill a deal because someone leaks information like that. If so,90% of the deals in Hollywood will never happen.
Maybe MSNBC had second thoughts?
I see that Rosie is still doing her pathetic ee cummings imitation.

Olbermann seems to have picked Glenn Beck as a new target. He has made his worse person in the world list at least 4 times in the last 2 weeks.
As for Rosie losing the deal...not surprising, as she was probably told to keep off the woo juice and refused...now using the "leak" as cover.

Yeah,I have noted Olbermann's change of target. But's it still tired and juvenile.
Not that Beck is any better in his response.
The problem I have with Olbermann is a lot of the time he is guilty of the same things he loves to accuse O Reilly and Beck of doing..particulary the selective use of news items. Olbermann is every bit as guilty of carefull ommisions to support his point of view.

Comedienne Rosie O'Donnell has lost out on a deal to host a new talk show - because network MSNBC "panicked" when she let slip details of the program before negotiations had been finalized. O'Donnell was in talks to front a new primetime program for the American cable channel earlier this week (- but admits her excited comments at the prospect of taking on CNN's Larry King caused the deal to fall through. Writing on her website blog, she says, "we were close to a deal. almost done. i let it slip in miami, causing panic on the studio end. well, what can u do. 2day there is no deal... poof. my career as a pundit is over b4 it began." But according to Fox News, it was O'Donnell's reluctance to commit to further presenting duties which resulted in negotiations being called off. The U.S. news channel reports, "The network couldn't afford to make a deal for Rosie just based on a nighttime show. It would have to have been tied into something else on daytime. The problem with that? O'Donnell doesn't want to return to a grueling daytime schedule while her kids are in school." The chat show would have been O'Donnell's first since she left daytime talk show The View in May.

Another article
After several published reports suggested it was a done deal, talks between Rosie O'Donnell and MSNBC have broken off, with O'Donnell herself indicating that her prediction that she would soon be taking on Larry King was premature. On her blog Wednesday night, O'Donnell, who never uses the shift key or punctuation keys on her keyboard and whose postings have been likened to haiku, wrote: "we were close to a deal almost done i let it slip in miami causing panic on the studio end well what can u do 2day there is no deal poof my career as a pundit is over b4 it began just as well i figure." Today's (Thursday) Los Angeles Times, citing a person familiar with the discussions, said that O'Donnell had been demanding the kind of salary paid by broadcast networks, not cable news operations. And the New York Times, citing an unnamed NBC executive, said that O'Donnell had insisted on a one-year contract, while the network had demanded a two-year deal. Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson on Wednesday attempted to shoot down growing rumors that his show is about to be canceled. (One website said that Carlson had already been fired.) Contacted by Big Head DC, Carlson called the reports "complete and utter bull[rule10]."bolding mine
Is that the reason? Damn you, and your shift key! Take that society!

So she asked for a lot more money then she is worth. Not surprising.
I think that MSNBC dodged the bullet on this one. I am no fan of Larry "I Never Ask A Guest A Tough Question" King ,but King would have destroyed Rosie in the ratings.
