View Full Version : The Closing of the Griffin Thread

I'm not sure it is appropriate to express on this forum my objections to the closing of the thread I started yesterday, "The Extremely Predictable David Griffin." If it isn't, I apologize. I want to post the message I sent to chillzero, who I regard as a superb mod, someone who is judicious and careful in all of her decisions. I invite feedback on my argument:

(I wrote to chillzero:)

I understand your position and would not have objected to seeing the thread moved. I still believe that it belongs in the Conspiracy forum and I strongly contend that it doesn't warrant closing altogether. A discussion about a particular personality will inevitably devolve into bickering. But, part of the reason for posting the news about Griffin's long-anticipated exit was to show how his followers would attempt to defend a clear act of reneging on an agreement. A consensus was reached here months ago that he had no intention of actually submitting to an interview by me. The people who expressed that opinion deserve the opportunity to say "I-told-you-so." The thread served a useful purpose, it seems to me, in forcing fantasists to confront their leader's manifest unwillingness to defend the views he sells them for twenty bucks a book.

Best Regards,
Ron

Ron,

It is more appropriate to post this in Forum Management.

Am I allowed to do that?

Just report this thread, and ask the mods to move it to FM.

Not only allowed, but required. All forum management and moderation issues must be discussed in the Forum Management subforum.

Okay, I have posted the OP on Forum Mgt. Do many people actually look at what appears in that section?

I have my concerns about why the thread was moved also, but agree that this belongs in the FM section.

You know what's really odd is that I typically get private messages when my post gets move. I didn't this time.

The mods and admins do and they are the only people that matter in this situation.

More do than you might expect.

More do than you might expect.

I check out the FM section regularly.

There are quite a few threads and discussions on what constitutes a breach of the MA. Of course, some of it is just whining but the mods do a good job of explaining the rationale behind their decisions.

And then there is the public notices section which lists the latest suspensions and bannings.

Heck, I got yellow carded yesterday and was able to successfuly appeal and reverse the decision. :D

Edited to removed quoted remark.

Reported.

I only mention it so you won't think that Ron did it.

Why don't you give it up already? You know this doesn't belong here. Maybe if you replied to some people in half the good natured tone you are clearly capable of as displayed above in your pathetic sucking up to chillzero then maybe you wouldn't have some of the troubles you are experiencing these days. Get a grip.

and your verbal "beat down" of Ron above is productive in what way?

Shall we go through your posts one by one to look for lack of "good nature"?

I am sure Ron has "a grip".

No facts to add to the OP, and no facts on 9/11. Why are all 9/11 truth people unable to post any fact to support 9/11 truth?

If only you put as much time in researching 9/11.

And why beachnut are you such a one trick pony?

I mean really man.

You always retort with the same stuff.

You unequivicably always accuse troofers of absolutely no content and no facts.

It must be nice living in a world where everything you say is the truth and nothing but the truth so help me God.

Reported. I second what Calcas said, above. Not just a personal attack but adding nothing, nothing, to any discussion.

Since Pomeroo started a thread about this same topic in Forum Management, and combining the two threads would just make everything confusing, I am closing this thread.
