Phenomenon is on tonight which means we get to see Uri Geller. YAY!!! :::note sarcasm:::

UPDATE:

One of the men on the show bent spoons like Uri Geller. He also bent a stop sign pole. Now, I obviously do not believe that psychic abilities did this. It was obviously a trick or an illusion. Since I am neither an illusionist or magician, can someone please tell me how he bent the stop sign pole?

At least with Jim Callahan gone there's 1/2 a reason to watch... we're 50% there.

Ugh.. One of the contestants payed tribute to Uri by preforming "telekinetic" spoon bending. THAT never gets old.

I did, however, like how Criss called it a trick that Uri made famous, only to hear Uri in the background saying, "I don't like calling it a trick." :D

All in all the show is getting pretty boring though. Same basic tricks every week, and no shortage of woo-woo by NBC.

Yeah, I was just about to post how Uri told Criss not to call it a trick! Perhaps it is something more? Supernatural powers, maybe? LOL

I thought Mike Super's Red Motorcycle Skull trick was really well performed. He's been the highlight of the show in my opinion.

To be fair the guy who did the spoon bending is Guy Bavli who's also an Israeli (like Uri) who became famous with his metal bending routines... The difference with him is that he's not so much of a jerk as to claim it as anything supernatural. His series of "Bending Minds" DVDs are pretty well known as far as covering metal bending in the magic scene. They are well worth the money if you are interested in learning about the subject.

Hearing Uri whine "I don't like calling it a trick" was priceless!

Agreed. Out of all the contestants he certainly has the best stage presence.

Most of the performances though seem to be just plain boring, and in some cases awkward. Angela is super hot :D but I can't stand how awkward and drawn out her performances are.

Thanks for the info. Good to know he's one of the good guys.

That bit at the end where he asked the audience (Uri and Criss included ) to hold hands and focus their energy was such an Uri moment. I sort of assumed he was trying to perpetuate the Woo-Woo this-stuff-is-real rubbish That Uri is infamous for doing.

Maybe, but getting the whole audience to hold hands and "focus energy" is a great way to distract them while you switch props (I didn't see the show).

On one of Guy's videos he credits Uri Geller. For those who don't know, it is a big deal in the magic community to correctly acknowledge credit to the inventor of a trick. Guy was explaining various methods for bending spoons. For one of the methods he says that it was invented by Uri Geller. Of course, he says, Uri does not claim credit but he is pretty sure that the move is one of Uri's anyway. It was a funny moment.
