View Full Version : Secret Society Symbols "Everywere"?

This by far has to be my favorite CT, and it seems to be promoted by every single moonbat/twoofer/conspiracy nut. The belief that the elite Freemasons/NWO/whatever have put there symbols allover the place to "show us" that they "secretly control us". If they want to "secretly control us" why would they put there symbols all over the place?
P.S. Is Randi's beard is a masonic symbol?

I love the fact that every super secret Freemason lodge has a big sign in front of it pointing out that it is a freemason lodge. And my best friend that has a license plate that says "MASON" on it.
They are horrible at keeping their super secret organization a secret.

well, there are masonic symbols in company logos sometimes. but so what? there are lots of freemasons who love the craft. Why wouldn't they play these little games? It is hardly proof that they "run the world".
Most of the "anti mason" stuff i have read is from Christians - for example, Ralph Epperson has written a few books about them. but he seems to be more bothered that masons are not christians (even though some are) then anything else.
I've read the Pike and Hall books (available in every library!), and have a bunch of others - most pro mason, but a few anti, and I really can't see the problem. My mason friends are great people.
Also, many fine people were masons, including Franz Liszt (my liszt books show him giving masonic signals), mozart, alexander flemming, Goethe, haydn, and a whole bunch of intelectuals.
Is there even a scrap of evidence that say the freemasons are "bad"?

It is an amusing subset of CT. The symbol decoders have "shaman" like ability to interpret logos, crests, and icons. Just ask Proctor and Gamble how much trouble they can be.

They're so powerful that they arrogantly, yet "subtly" reveal their dominance over the world (in movies, TV shows, public displays, etc.)...
...and yet they're still trying to take over the world, at which point they'll really reveal themselves. Bwuh??
I love that.

just to balance it a little (don't want to sound like a mason fanboy), the blackest mark in masonic history was probably the things surrounding robber Ken Noye - he was in the same lodge as some policemen. But again, this was nothing to do with masonry - they could have gone to the same dance classes with similar results.

absolutely.
take Shell, for example. Their logo is obviously a shell. But it could also be the rising sun, the sun being a common masonic symbol.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Shell_logo.svg
why not? a bit of visual irony.
Terms like Lucifer actually mean the light bringer, and it refers to the morning star - the star that defies the "sun of god" - a lovely analogy. This is probably why some christians get scared - they mistakenly think "lucifer" means "satan"

Have bad judgment perhaps. Maybe not as a whole but certainly the lodge which took the rituals so seriously that they used an actual gun which had accidentally been loaded with real bullets instead of blanks and killed one of their own.
A Masonic initiation ritual ended in tragedy when a man was shot in the head and killed with a gun thought to contain blanks.
Police said 47-year-old William James was accidentally killed when Albert Eid, 76, confused a loaded .38-caliber semiautomatic pistol with another gun during the induction ceremony in Patchogue, on New York’s Long Island.
"An inductee was shot and killed when a lodge member used a real gun instead of a blank pistol," police said.

wow! Never heard this one before. this is not a normal masonic ritual - guns are not part of it. A knife perhaps, but no guns. Do you have a link for this story?

I found the credible news source links from here (http://libertytothecaptives.net/masonic_initiation.html), a site I'm not too sure about being credible
Winnipeg Sun (http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/WinnipegSun/News/2004/03/10/376451.html)
Boston Globe (http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2004/03/10/mason_killed_at_initiation_another_member_is_charg ed)
NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/03/10/nyregion/10shot.html)
Apparently there is some question as to what exactly happened? Which pocket was the gun in? (http://libertytothecaptives.net/masonic_initiation_killing_which_pocket.html) Maybe the skeptics here have already debunked anything suspicious about this case and might further explain the mystery behind this story?

Actually most are, though that's more likely to do with historical interest in Masonry and family and social connections to it than anything else. In my Lodge for example, our Junior Deacon is Sikh and one of the Past Masters Jewish and the rest various and sundry stripes of Christian (no shortage of Catholics, I might add). The only proviso for joining in that regard is a belief in a single God.
Also, many fine people were masons, including Franz Liszt (my liszt books show him giving masonic signals), mozart, alexander flemming, Goethe, haydn, and a whole bunch of intelectuals.
Gave me a giggle when I was visiting Vatican this past summer and lo and behold, there's a Vatican City stamp honouring Mozart, a well-known Mason. Armagaeddon is nigh! :D

As a group, no. Individuals? Some, just as you'll get in any large organisation. Making a good man better only happens when you have a good man to begin with. I'd venture the average for bad apples in Freemasonry's probably lower than that of society in general (no proof per se; just a suspicion).

Oy! That one of Michael J. Fox is hilarious. Looks more like he's giving a Vulcan 'live-long-and-prosper' sign than any "kabbalist Mason hand sign" I'm familiar with. But, then again, I'm not a 282nd degree Super Sekret Ancaster Rite Mason so WTF would I know? :)

JCM, notice what it says at the top of that page?
"If a non-Mason had two guns on his person, one loaded and one empty, and he shot his friend to death at a party in front of witnesses, would the police instantly conclude that it was an accident? No! "
Well, perhaps YES!

Yet another goal for Freemasony. It also raises the question (for athiests) - why is it that the brightest people in our history (imo) - and let's face it, so many influential people have been masons that it is beyond natural probability, believe in God? Perhaps a question for the religion forum at some point.
Sometimes I wish the freemasons really were running the world.

Guns? Wow, they must have really modernized! All we ever got to use were pikes, swords and the occasional setting maul in any of the ritual or initiation ceremonies (and I went through all of them, both Scottish and York Rites, many years ago)

I sort of agree...it would be cool to be part of a group that really has some power ...but the membership numbers of Masonic lodges today are a mere shadow of what they were just 30 - 40 years ago.

I thought it looked rather like the Leonard Nimoy invention too, though I haven't graduated from Starfleet Academy yet, so I am also at a disadvantage, not knowing if there is some sinister Vulcan Illuminati sign of recognition.

I read the Texe Marrs book to do an article on it for a friend's website. Codex Majica actually made me dumber. I also learned that no matter what Texe Marrs may say in public he doesn't like Jews very much. In fact you can buy a copy of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" on his website.

I don't know, but I got my idea for my goatee from J. G. Thirlwell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._G._Thirlwell) (example (http://www.foetus.org/nupix/thirwell%20and%20friends/dcandjgt.jpg)). No idea if he's got a secret society or not. :)

Shoot, guys, I just realized something: The date of the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse was November 7. That's 11/7. The numbers "11" and "7" are BOTH significant scary Masonic numbers in Trutherdom.
Coincidence??????????

Can women join the masons or is that still not allowed?
A few of their symbols date back to the ancient Egyptians.

I once worked with a wonderful young chap (who tried to get me into Alex Jones, heh) who bought into the whole Bohemian Grove=cult=illuminati=NWO=hidden symbols=mind control =??? thing. That, and the whole "satanic symbols hidden everywhere (http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Illuminati/dc.htm)" meme.
He even tried showing me some of these things on Google maps one day. I always found this one quite amusing: THE (O RLY?) BOHEMIAN GROVE HIDDEN OWL OF DOOM:

Here's what they don't want you to know: if you take the word "TITANIC" and you remove the letters T, I, and T, and then you add the letters C, O, S, P, R, and Y, then it spells:

To be honest, I've never really understood all the fuss about the Masons. It's just another old boys network. Go to Eton, other people who went to Eton will help you out. Be born or marry into nobility and other nobility will help you out. Be a Mason and other Masons will help you out. It's not necessarily fair or right, but that sort of thing always has happened and always will happen. The only real difference between the Masons and any other old boy network is that most don't wear funny clothes and call themselves grand wizards. Although having said that, that describes most nobility pretty accurately as well.

I'm not a Mason, but when the various conspiracy theorists get around to building and supporting children's hospitals and their patients, do let me know.
They can wear all of the funny hats and engage in whatever trust-building exercises they want, their charitable work is outstanding.

Exactly. On a related note, rumor has it that Steven Speilbeg hides symbols from his fraternity (Theta Chi) in all of his movies. Nothing sinister or evil about it - just a nod to his college brotherhood - if it's even true.
