I did some calculations
here and came to the conclusion that the popularity of the Truth Movement in the US Northwest is less than the popularity of Australian Rules Football (a sport practically unknown anywhere in Europe) in Finland. The basis of the calculation was that the number of Twoofers in a rally in NYC (100) divided by the population living within a 4-hour drive of said place (40 million) is less than the minimum number of players needed to field an Australian Rules Football team (18) divided by the population of Finland (5 million). And yes, Finland does have an Aussie Rules national team -- one that incidentally won the European Championship.
Of course, the math-savvy Twoofer could point out that there are at least three problems in this calculation:
1. You're really comparing apples with oranges. The Twoofers only had to appear for the rally, while the Aussie Rules players actually had to practice and play. The more apt comparison would be between the number of
featured speakers in the rally and the number of players needed.
2. The minimum number of players probably isn't enough to really field a competitive team. So, the number 18 is bound to be too low.
3. It's not only our national Aussie Rules team, it's our
men's team. Hence the population base from which the team is drawn is not 5 million but approximately 2.5 million.
Therefore, my conclusion that "9-11 Truth in the US Northeast is a more marginal phenomenon than Australian Rules Football in Finland" needs to be amended. The correct wording is
vastly more marginal. Really nice going, Twoofs.
