VFF needs some reigning in IMHO. In some ways she's worse than SB. She claims to be a scientist and skeptic, but she seems unable to apply critical thought when it comes to paranormal claims.
Long story short, she's got the door to Woo-land jammed open with scientific curiosity. Well at least she operates under the guise of scientific curiosity. In reality she's got a deep seeded belief in the paranormal that she's trying to rationalize with science.
That's what makes her potentially worse than SB. At least SB operates as a mystic. It's much easier to close that door, at least as far as skeptics are concerned. You really have to want to believe her. Anita on the other hand makes it much more difficult because she's claiming to be a critical thinker when she isn't.
Anita could potentially sway the fence sitters, the ones that hover on the boundary of what can't be explained, and what has yet to be explained by science. While she leaves the door open to possibilities all the other belly crawlers scurry through.
As for the UY-VFF soap opera, that's just a result of 2 decent people engaged in a passive aggressive chess game. VFF seems like a rather nice person as does UY. One of Anita's redeeming qualities is that she freely engages her antagonizer. She's either an expert manipulator or subconsciously skeptical of her own claims. Which is exactly why she's needs to be "engaged". "Stopped" is perhaps too strong of a word in her case.
