Websites that detail political views of politicians?

I was wondering if there is a website where people can log onto and browse all of the united states politicians and see what their political views are, before they vote for them? For instance If I wanted to see if Joe Libermann was pro life or pro choice or if Hillary Clinton supported legalization of marijuana, Is there a single website that lists all of the political views of the politicians? Not that it would be hard to find the answers of the examples I listed. Just that it gets difficult when you're googling the views of dozens of politicians when election time comes around.

So does such a website exist?

The League of Women Voters actually has a pretty site for information about candidates and issues for your particular region. I've used it for the last few major elections.

I don't know if its the best out there or if they've even kept it up, but it is at least a resource:

That last website posted doesn't even include any info on Bush's positions. It says since he hasn't taken the "NPAT" test they don't have any information on his political positions.

Aren't there sites out there that come up with conclusions based on public statements or decisions or voting records of the person in the past?

Er, you mean like this one? This whole forum is dedicated to people comparing conclusions based on political actions and words.

Seriously, what position of Bush's is a mystery to you? He's been there for 6 years, surely you must have some kind of inkling?

I'm not referring to Bush, That was just an example. I'm referring to dozens of my local politicians who refused to take the NPAT test and therefore that website has none of their views posted or easily accessible

Well, if you think someone has refused to take the test, then that's all you really need to know, isn't it? Otherwise, check out a candidate's web page. Every now and then you find one that has a touch of substance.

I think looking at their voting history and speeches would give a clue about what their opinions are or aren't.

But politicians usually always contradict themselves don't they?

You can get their "Interest Group" ratings which are handy for whether the NRA endorses them or not and that sort of thing.

Vote-Smart details the voting history on key issues of the folks it lists.
