Roman Catholic Church to sue God
Roman Catholic Church to sue God
The Catholic Church, financially crippled by sex-abuse payouts, has decided to sue God to get its money back. The Church is claiming that God's failure to advise it to report abusive priests to the police was a denial of their human rights. "Ultimately, He's the one to blame," said a Catholic spokes-prelate today. "If God had told us that some of the priests we were hiring were frustrated little perverts, then we wouldn't have been in this God-awful mess in the first place." A spokes-cardinal for the Vatican said: "We now have our own foolproof system of character checks for new priests. We ask each one if he is a sexually frustrated little pervert and, if he says 'no', we ordain him." Last ditch By Armando Iannucci (Filed: 20/12/2002) The Telegraph.co.uk |
