Man arrested while praying. In church.

Seems to me this is the kind of fellow that *should* be in church...

CHARLOTTE COUNTY: A man was arrested for going to church in Charlotte County. Arrest reports show the man caused problems at the church in the past and was banned from worshiping there. [...]"It's not safe for other folks on the ground working during the day for someone to be intoxicated and possibly become abusive," said McDonald. Arenal says McEwen has been causing problems for a while.
"He's been reported as suspicious, harassing individuals and panhandling throughout the city," said Arenal.
What, exactly, is the problem here? Sure, you're supposed to be open as a Christian and not be judgmental, but when someone appears threatening, you have to be allowed to throw him out.

The church building has no more mystical powers than my dog house to satellite feed my prayers to God. If he followed what Jesus said about praying he could have stayed home and avoided all the nonsense.

So, instead of making endless speeches about arresting the man, he got of his keister and did it. Good for him. No one likes a windbag.

Wow. This seems to be becoming a new religious fad. 71 year-old woman arrested at this church: http://online.wsj.com/public/article...848399079.html

Quote:
"It was very humiliating," says Mrs. Caskey, who worked for the state of Michigan for 25 years before retiring from the Department of Corrections in 1992. "The other prisoners were surprised to see a little old lady in her church clothes. One of them said, 'You robbed a church?' and I said, 'No, I just attended church.' "

I was always taught that churches were inviolate for some reason.
I always wondered why.

Appearantly, the answer to the why is that they aren't.

Interesting.
