TV Ontario 9/11 Debate

The Canadian TV show The Agenda with Steve Paikin had a 9/11 debate on September 9, 2008.

The physics of 9/11: why do the rumors live on? 9/11 Truthers, the laws of probability ... and the laws of science. Guests: Jefferson Flanders, professor of Journalism at New York University. Michael Keefer, professor of English and Theatre Studies at the University of Guelph. Graeme MacQueen, retired professor of Religious Studies at McMaster University. John Ray, blogger for Conspiracies R Not Us.

(John Ray's droll blog is highly recommended, btw.)

An embeded video of the show (58 minutes) can be found on my blog.

Why interview them. That would only lead to the real truth, and clarification. That is exactly what he and the other "truth" promoters do NOT want. They want to cherry pick words, comments, similes, hyperbole, from their statements a few weeks after 9/11. Clarification is never a truthers best friend.

For those who may not be aware of it, the TVO program in question was also discussed in this thread.

Read some of the forum comments over at the TVO site. You'll recognize some of the same old, tired, and long-debunked conspiracist arguments. Though most of the respondents have roundly criticized this particular The Agenda episode was being far below the program's normal level of quality.
