Science Bloggers meeting all over the country

"As regular Sb readers have probably noticed, we've almost reached 1,000,000 comments on our network! W00t!

To celebrate, from September 14-29, our bloggers are setting up parties all over the U.S. and abroad."

The link lists the events. There's one in Seattle on Sat the 27th that I'll be going to. PZ Myers has initiated an event in the Twin Cities on the 18th.

Have a look, there are more and new ones could still be listed.

It was fun, and since you challenged me, here goes (and as I said, they are case reports):

Severe cyanide toxicity from 'vitamin supplements'.

Acute cyanide poisoning from laetrile ingestion.

Acute cyanide toxicity caused by apricot kernel ingestion.

And this is not quite the article I remember reading on Cancer.gov, it looks like it has been revamped to make is simpler to understand:
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/p...cdr#Section_27

... To those not there, we were relating what stuff we see on the internet that we had encountered before. In the 1970s my aunt had a book on how laetrile was a great cure for cancer, and I related how it does cause cyanide poison. Skeptigirl was skeptical that the apricot kernals would have enough. So I am showing my data.

By the way, we all drank lots of beer.

Thanks for the info. I shall no longer be skeptical.

Everyone missed a great time. The tab was covered Sb (Science Blogs), so the beer and food was free. There were a couple copies of Seed to be had though I did not get one, I did go through a copy and it looked pretty good.
