I dont trust religious politicians
Really relgious guys, not the weekend warrior types. I dont see them being that far from these muslim extremists. One thing these religions seem to have in common is that they believe their religion is right, and the rest are wrong. No room for accepting others, AND its your duty to try and convert/preach. Put that kind of person in govt and they are not thinking whats good for the people, theyre thinking whats good for religion X. THere are times when those interests will clash.

I mistrust them too. Not so much because they are religious though, but because so many of them seem to be of the opinion that they know how best everyone should live their life and they are willing to use the force of law to make sure everyone lives it precisely that way.
I realize full well that not all religious politicians are that way, nor are all politicians who are that way, religious. There is sufficient overlap between the groups, though, that a really religious politician sets off alarm bells in my head. |
