Senate bans secret holds

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...nges/?hpt=Sbin

The vote was 92-4 to make a few rule changes.

Now, if the senator's name would be published in the Congressional Record two days after placing a hold.

They also passed a rule against forcing bills to be read aloud if there has been reasonable time to review the text.

They also will limit the number of appointees that even require confirmation by the full Senate.

I would say these are all GOOD things.

Aren't "secret holds" a wrestling move? You know, something illegal that the ref can't see?

Only when the ref is looking.

Watch it, tricky; don't you know statements like that will incite Pelosi and the libs to bann free speech in the name of protecting Senators from 'inflamatory language".??
Gads, you may be the cause of some wack-job turning the Senate floor into a Jerry Springer show ! ...and you'd be blamed for some Senator's brain damage.

It's the title of a wrestling based porno movie.

Or so I've heard.

"Secret" holds may be banned but the 'Senatorial Reach-Around' will continue to be used.

I remember George "The Animal" Steel used to hide a foreign object in his trunks. Don't know if that qualifies as a "hold" or not.
