Skeplympics
I'm trying to come up with a fun activity for the opening night of the 2011 NZ conference.
I thought doing some sort of skeptical olympics would be fun. This is what I have so far:

Has anyone already done something like this? |

As someone who has been to a convention or two in his time, for multiple reasons, i can say things like this, themed events that arn't really fun events to begin with, do not usually make for an excellent time.
What i suggest is just finding things that are fun and get people to work together. And drop the wedging in of skepticality. You will get less eye rolls and more enjoyment from the participants ( and in case this came off as a dig, i have put on my share of events ranging from for kids, to the elderly. And am just trying to legitimately help, so feel free to toss out other ideas or ask me for any specifics, i meant in no way to be dismissive, i just did not want to seem intrusive and say " here is a list of what you need to do.") |
