In principle, it wasn't a bad idea. If only the Americans had come across with the hundred bucks, the Taliban would have come out way ahead on the deal. As it stands, he is now getting better food, housing, and entertainment at less risk, and will accomplish as much. The only detail preventing the full realization of the cunning plan is the hundred bucks.
