Calm your fears, Padawan. As usual, they are based on a complete misunderstanding of Just About Everything.

Indeed.

That's why I'm trying to understand the truth of how the set of ten commandments mentioned in both Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 managed to be recorded despite the fact that Moshe the Nomad smashed them to pieces in a hissy fit in Exodus 32.

I'd also like to find out the truth of why you think it's OK to ignore the real set of ten commandments that teh LAWD issued in Exodus 34.

Original credit to Ogden Nash. Yes, the last line too. Still, thanks for resurrecting him, TjW. You can never get enough Nash ramblings.

Only a partial credit for the last line, and the third line is, I believe, original (as well as tipping the hat to Nash).

Wikipedia says:
Quote:
(Nash appended a footnote to this poem: "The author's attention has been called to a type of conflagration known as a three-alarmer. Pooh."[6])
So he was aware of the possibility. But he didn't write the last line.
And I wouldn't have written the third line the way I did if I was trying to pass the first two off as my own.

So to you, Tricky, I say: "Beep Beep. Beep Beep. His horn went Beep Beep Beep."

It was played on Children's Favourites on the BBC every week when I was a child and it still goes around my head with depressing regularity.

Dearest Ali -

You have ears, but you do not hear. To him that has, much is required. Him To him that has not, all shall be taken. You, as all my children, only have the power to be humble, accepting and show love. Any miracles performed are through my Holy Spirit in the name of my Beloved. Do not be offended by my words!

I will reiterate for you, my Son. All is for His sake.

Look, I know your heart is in the right place. You're trying your best to stand up for me. That's great, but I really don't need the help. Your saved by faith, not works. Remember?

Also, please stop representing me as some kind of selfish, childish, hateful, wrathful ogre, hellbent on destroying my creations. I love ALL my children and creations. (As you well know, I am the God of Love.)

Also, remember, when you take upon yourself to represent me, lashing out at people mercilessly with wrath in a less then humble spirit, then that's what people think about me! (Think about Moses striking the rock! No promised land for him.)

The humble will be raised up. The proud, brought down. (Don't act so proud, your no more, or less, "special" than anyone else.)

He who is first now, will be last, later. (Don't pretend as if you will be the first then, or that you're the first to confess belief in me.)

Do not judge others, so that you will not be judged. (For with the judgement you judge others, you shall be judged.)

Now, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, by the power of His Blood and The Holy Spirit, I tell you:

Be kind to all my creations. (Also, do not blaspheme my Spirit of Holiness.)

Now, back to the previously scheduled debate.

GOD (H.F., J.C., H.S.)

(Incidentally, the Ten Commandments are neither "the elixir" of, or "source" of life.

Great just get rid of the two parts of the trinity and you'll be well on your way to being rational.

The Christians will never abandon their polytheism. I think they worry that it would make them look too Jewish, or something.

It depends, to whom you are speaking, and what Bible version they may be reading.

Nevertheless, I understand how the word "ghost", might be misleading.

Do you find words, spoken under influence of the Holy Spirit, laughable?

I am sure you don't need me to quote scripture ( Mark 3:29 ), concerning this subject.

What does the Lord reveal to you about this?

No it doesn't. There's no proof (or even evidence) of any Holy Ghosts no matter what book you're reading and no matter who you're talking to. It's a made-up thing, like the Dementors of Azkaban, only sillier.

Yeah. Somebody might think you were talking about something that actually exists.

.
The quote is from a book of myths, and reveals nothing, especially any "lord".
The writer(s) just conjured up a ripping good yarn.. from whole cloth.

I find that it fails to grip. A very boring book of fairy stories.
