A Real Live Medium, Brought to Us by The Onion

Not sure if this is the right forum, but The Onion released a video of an honest to goodness medium. It's remarkably similar to the more famous versions we're all familiar with. Enjoy.

Medium Channels the Spirits of Old Acquaintances for Awkward Small Talk

Love it. I always want to see Sylvia or one of her ilk say something like, "Oh, and Uncle Ed says that if you check the Wells Fargo Bank on 2nd Street in Norman, OK you'll find an account in your name with forty thousand dollars in it. It was going to be a wedding gift." But no, Uncle Ed always tells them that things are better now and that he still loves them.

I liked the contents of the "scroll" at the bottom of the screen too.

That video reminded me how annoying it is that they can spend several minutes scratching around with J-names or 'relative of some kind - or perhaps a colleague, friend, or acquaintance', but as soon as an audience member claims the contact, they magically get access to the specifics of personal greetings, messages, illnesses, heirlooms, etc..

If it wasn't for Jack, or Jane, or was it James, who died of something serious in the chest region, kept a box of old holiday photos in a drawer in the sideboard, and was glad the dog was happy in its new home, I'd be tempted to think they were making it up.
