Video purports to show mythical giant Icelandic Worm

Video seems to show the mythical Lagarfljótsormur, an giant worm that has appeared in Icelandic Folklore since at least 1345.

The closeups make it look like a log that has been frozen in many layers of ice.

I can't put my finger on why exactly but I'm leaning toward something organic towing something inorganic; a fish dragging a bit of fishing net or other debris or something along those lines.

It appears to be flexible, so it can't be just a log.

I can't tell much from the video but it kind of looks like net/plastic/something snagged on something underneath the water and the water moving around it. It doesn't really look like it's swimming in any direction or moving forward etc.
ETA: The video appears to have been on YouTube since February. Don't know why it's in the news now.

In February 2012, the Icelandic national broadcaster, RÚV, published a video thought to show the Lagarfljót Worm swimming in snow-covered icy water, but it was later demonstrated to be making no progress and therefore probably an inanimate object moved by the rapid current.

If it's in a current, it could be swimming and not moving forward relative to the bank.

Annelida, not the sharpest phylum in the drawer. Maybe it was hanging around waiting to evolve?

Looks to me like some sort of long strip of debris, or a long strip of ice.
