Flash crashes in all browsers.

Sorry if this is a repeat.

I can't get Flash to run in any browser. I get white squares in a forum, and on Youtube I get "an error has occurred, please try later."

I've deleted the programs and reinstalled after a cold boot, no joy. ANY clues would be appreciated.

Well, the problem seems to be at least partially resolved by deleting Flash entirely. I can play Youtubes at Youtube.com, but not on Facebook. (Color me brokenhearted.)

That could be because on YT itself an alternative video format of a clip plays if the flash player isn't installed on your computer whereas the video embedded in a Facebook page could be flash only.

There's a known problem with the latest version (11.3) of Flash and Firefox, but it shouldn't cause problems with other browsers.

Well it causes problems in Chrome with my Mac. I disabled it and have to switch to Safari to run youtubes.

I reinstalled it and the pages worked for a day then the problem started again. The Mac forum was no help but I haven't checked it for a few days.

I finally removed Flash completely. This causes less problems, most very minor with work arounds. I can see Youtubes now, which I need for certain things.

I wonder why with Flash disabled I can only hear Youtubes in Chrome (screen goes white) but they play fine in Safari?

Reporting that videos do fine without flash for the past 36 hours. When Abode announces they have an update, I just hit cancel.

Just an FYI to make things even more confusing: I had been routinely not updating Adobe when the problem started.

Me neither, which makes me think there is a glitch elsewhere that's killing Flash. I've had this problem for months in Palemoon, and it has since spread to other browsers. It's not a virus, I think. I run A/V that are literally military grade. (Jokes about government A/V go here.)

Issue resolved. I had a virus. PUP something or other. Five A/Vs and they all missed it. Malwarebytes found it and fixed it. I went pro immediately after it was done.

You don't have a Mac, right? I'm having a tiny bit of trouble now even with flash disabled. Crome is the only browser I have trouble in and everything works in Safari.
