Race and sports II, race and biologic differences, what are the implications?

Hi.

I was wondering about this. I noticed that in this article:

http://www.jonentine.com/skeptic/shermer.htm

(mentioned in my previous "race and sports" thread) it seems that he is warm to the idea that genetic differences in sports ability could exist between races (but not the extreme of "all observed differences are genetic", either -- he says stuff like "Somewhere between Edwards's extreme environmental determinism and the Greek's radical biological determinism lies the truth about the cause and meaning of black-white differences in sports.", "Yes, there are black-white difference in sports, and there may even be good physical reasons for some of these differences.", etc.). So my question is, what if race differences in sports ability are in some part genetic (note: not necessarily ALL genetic, but partially)? What about the analogous question for intelligence? What would be the ramifications of that for society? Would it mean racial prejudices may be vindicated? Or what?

Also, the author mentions how they don't necessarily agree with the conclusion that "blacks dominate sports". If so, then which race, if any, _does_ dominate the most sports, and how much of the reason for that is genetic?

I'm on my iPad, so no long posts......How does this fellow obtain "pure" ethnic samples to provide controls? How many black folks living today are of entirely black descent?
How many "Hispanic.? Almost by definition, Hispanics in the New World are multi-ethnic.
How about Whites? More than a few, ah, ethnic folks in the old woodpile, eh?

The reasons behind high-level performance in sports seems to have as much a strong cultural and economic aspect as a genetic one.
Impoverished Dominicans see baseball as their only way "out". They work their butts off from childhood to that end.

Most 'African Americans' have a white rapist in their ancestry.
