"Sense Murderer ?"

"Sense Murderer ?"

You may remember the recent norwegian TV case - where a psychic detective did "see" name and adress of a mother to two kids - and claimed she was a murderer - http://www.randi.org/jr/102904swing.html .

Of course the investigations by the norwegian police revealed this accusation as being nonsense.

This TV Show - "Sense Murderer" - is invented by a Danish Media company - called Nordic Film / Egmont - and sure, they are proud of their financial succes :

http://www.nordiskfilm.dk/NordiskFil...ortSuccess.htm

So far - Nordic Film has not wanted to comment questions, which plans they have to prevent similar wrong accusations of innocent people.

Neither has Nordic Film wanted to show any documentation that their TV shows have solved just one single murder-case.

Still - a lot of rumours are floating around..

According to http://print.google.com/print/doc?articleid=wG5IJXuA0L8

”Clairvoyants on Nordisk Film's "Sensing Murder," airing on TV Danmark, have been helping police solve murders for three seasons.”

This is not true - even though more than 20 cases have been shown in this psychic Sensing Murder show - not one single Danish case has been solved by help of these clairvoyants.

Mr Zammit even goes further - and writes

”In Romania, a Sensing Murder team has taken credit for solving the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a 43-year-old man, whose body was found at "a location that had been perfectly described by the clairvoyant", to quote the press release of the Danish distributor of the format rights.”

So far it has not been possible to get comments by Nordic Film on this topic either - their press officer mentions that he is not aware of all details within their 88 subdivisions.

However - a Danish Tabloid press article did briefly mention this Romania Sensin Murder case is based on psychic detective "Nicoleta Moldoveanu".

Nicoleta claims having pointed out that the 43 year old man - Alexandra Preda - missing for a month - should have died.

In addition, it is claimed, that she did "quite close" predict the place of the later recovered drowned Alexandra.

If any romanian skeptics do have closer details on this claimed predictions, please contact me.

Best greetings

Does the woman wrongly named have any legal redress against either the film company or the "psychic"?

Of course, we all have an obligation to assist the police if we genuinely think we know something, but given that the psychic had no (rational) grounds for such belief, the statement to the police looks like harassment of the person named and wasting police time. (Itself an offence in the UK).

According to http://www.rb.no/lokale_nyheter/article1296929.ece the woman falsely accused has had meetings with her lawyers.

The responsible TV Information Director does however not regret anything..

However - usually these TV shows are retransmitted a few days after first launch.

The retransmission of this murder show was however cancelled.

According to this article this cancelling was due to the identity of this women now beeing known in local public :

"The responsible TV Information Director does however not regret anything.. "

The reason for that attitude might be :

"This episode of the show had a record high viewing of 293,000 people, reported TVNorge. "

It's all a question of money, I suppose..

According to the paper, the police reportedly do not have any other reason for calling the woman in for questioning than what was stated at the television show.

Lawyer Sverre Næss is shocked that the police call in «a completely randomly selected woman» to questioning after the hit and run. Næss advises the woman not to show.
Whoo hoo! I wish things like this would happen to me, I'd be set for life! (Horses couldn't keep me away from showing up).

I would camp outside the police station - just to be sure they didn´t forget about me.

OK, then why haven't we caught Bin Laden?

If these "psychic" detectives claim to do what they claim to do, then how come we haven't caught Osama Bin Laden? Where's he at?

A very good question....a very good question....

Here's what you can do: Ask the next psychic if it is possible to find criminals. If he/she says yes, ask your question.

Watch their eyes start to flicker. Listen to their excuses.

Then call them on it.
