And you infer this from one (double) murder? I agree the murder of the brothers De Witt was outrageously horrific, but I can't even think of a handful other political murders since the founding of an independent Dutch state. Fortuyn. Oldenbarneveldt if you will. That's all. Vlad Dracul, on the other hand, has been estimated to have made over 10,000 victims.
Anyway, you apparently don't dispute Johan de Witt's contributions to mathematics and actuarial science. |

Erzsébeth Báthory was born on a family estate in Nyírbátor, Hungary in 1560 or 1561, and spent her childhood at Ecsed Castle in Hungary.
The comparisons with Vlad III the Impaler of Wallachia, on whom the fictional Count Dracula is partly based, and to modern nicknames of the Blood Countess and Countess Dracula. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_B%C3%A1thory So You are Wrong: Dracula was the Impaler of Wallachia, NOT TRANSYLVANIA. Countess Dracula, Erzsébeth Báthory was born on a family estate in Nyírbátor, Hungary; NOT TRANSYLVANIA |

Actually, Alfa1 is right. For once. The Bathory family may have had strong political roots in Transylvania, but they were not Transylvanian. They considered themselves Hungarian, held themselves apart from the (still, at the time, primarily) Romanian population, and generally used it as a base for campaigns against the Hungarian monarchy in the west of the country. On the other hand, that means that Transylvania played a crucial role in the total collapse of the Hungarian state in the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, which led to the Ottoman Conquest, which led to the Austro-Turkish wars, which eventually led to about 300 years of total suppression of both Transylvanian and Hungarian nationhood, independence and suppression under the Austrian government, which led to the Hungarian revolution, which led to the Hungarian suppression of all other cultures and ethnicity in their half of the empire, which led to the Serbian revolt, which...
ZOMG TRANSYLVANIA CAUSED WORLD WAR 1. |

The professor Neagu Djuvara said 2 days ago: to say to a Romanian is a Tief is a compliment!
Romania is the European Union’s most corrupt country. Romania was very poor; Transylvania was inside the Austrian Empire. Romania came 71st in the group’s list of 180 countries and was seen as more corrupt than Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece as well as Namibia, ranked 56th, Cape Verde, ranked 46th and Botswana ranked 37th. http://www.romaniantimes.at/news/Gen..._country_in_EU http://livenews.rtv.net/interviu-cu-...a-i_10125.html |

Actually, nothing remotely related to reality is a proof of any theory you've ever had. It's is all a load of crap anyway:
1) There is no Transylvanian nationality. The region is split between Hungarians and Romanians. 2) There is no Transylvanian nationalist movement. It's all Alfalfa. 3) This thread keeps on going because we find you, Alfa1 and your ideas mildly entertaining and wonderfully absurd. |

No you're not. You haven't shown any evidence of that claim.

Last night I received a visitation from St Marshmallow, patron saint of Transylvania. He said unto me that I was to be the new khan of all Transylvania, and build an empire of blood and steel. Remington Steele, no less. With the aid of my associate, Ms Holt, I will endeavor to attempt trying this. To such end, please send me all of the money.

Princess Peppermint is buried in Transylvania. After she was slain by the Cavity Creeps, her loyal attendant angels bore her body there, and placed it in a marble sepulchre high atop Mount Popeye. Even today, superstitious villagers pray at her shrine to receive the blessing of Princess Peppermint. She is a national hero and a treasure to all, not the least her beloved Prince Butterscotch.
