Hi not-Dan and MTG,

It is always good to see new faces popping up. Now that you have properly intruduced yourselves, please take off your raincoat/cape/poncho/glamrock jacket/burberry/<insert appropriate attire here>, have a seat, pull up a thread of your liking and enjoy.

What you want to do is go to the "edit avatar" option in your user control panel. Your profile picture is visible when someone visits your profile, but it's not your avatar.

Hello again...

I’m not new, but I have been away long enough to “sign back in”...

In case anyone was curious, which I doubt...

I was last active participating in a UFO thread and the AA thread. I had to spend a bit of time without a computer, then without the interwebs, then got busy with other sites and activities. I have popped on regularly but wasn’t getting the urge to chime in very often.

All it takes is a couple days of heavy lurking and what do you know? The urge is on. I watched the Barry Beach episode of Dateline and had to come on and speak again. I’ll try not to be a dink and pull my weight a bit more wherever it seems to make sense. I missed this joint. I know because I’m tickled octarine as I type... Thanks for having me.

Oh, and a welcome to all other newbies. ☻☺☻

Hi Maurice,

Great to have you back. So you had to survive without a computer and teh interwebz, That must have been hard. Ease yourself in gently, do not overendulge on your first day back on your keyboard.

Welcome flashy dan. I also live in NY, though my real name happens to be Dan. While I have spent some time in Florida I haven't been convicted in to Montana or Vermont yet.

Welcome everyone.

Thanks a lot, Femke.

I must say that not having a computer, or not having a reliable connection at home doesn't account for the length of my absence. I felt I was banging my head on a brick wall at the UFO and AA threads, so when I got connected again, I didn't have the motivation to participate. I feel better now.

I also learned so much from lurking in this parts that I owe a bit of contribution whenever possible.

Seems like in the meantime I also lost the only person who was an official "friend" on this forum, due to the relatively questionable, though eventually inevitable banning of Marduk the wise.

Great to be back, I already posted a bit, but I'm taking it easy, as you suggest. Thanks again.
