It's an "unconference". Anyone can be a speaker, as long as the topic has something to do with science and/or skepticism, in some way.

I might be coming to NYC later in the month. But not for this. I would encourage others to keep in mind that I won't be there.

On the contrary, I think registrations picked up after I started telling people that you weren't going to be there.
