It's cargo-cult debating. They know they get accused of using Fallacy X a lot, maybe they even looked it up, but they don't really get it. So when they're cornered, they just start throwing them out.

There's someone over in Social Issues right now who said people's perfectly logical questions were accusing her of being a terrorist apologist, then that they were irrelevant, then that they were "fallacies". She never elaborated on any of these. The funny thing is that like the CTs here, she seems to have an exagerrated idea of her own competence, and I can't recall any time she's admitted she's wrong.

Come to think, my experience with CTs carries over to most sophists. Weird how that works.

Seems that DIF has changed it's moderation policy toward "debunkers". While they were tolerate in the past...it seems now days they infract anyone who doesn't believe their crap...and eventually ban them.

Yup I've received two more suspensions in under 10 posts, for apparently 'questioning admin decisions' and 'spamming', mean while 07august posts 5 posts an hour on Vicsims, witches, how 26% of the population was involved on 911, how my name 'new son 88' is masonic and I'm a witch, and yet hes free to continue with no infractions..

On that note, aside from my 3rd suspension and "last warning", I received a PM from 07august..

The guy zhiba hasn't the slightest clue what he is talking about.

I believe completely that the stories of pilot's interpretations of the difficulty of the tasks of that day that zhiba has read run "10 to 1 against them being able to perform those maneuvers".

The direct cause of that vote is zhiba's FILTERING of his information. He goes to Pilots for 9/11 Truth (PfT) and reads other truther sites that quote PfT. Or massively outdated videos like Wittenburg's nonsense that was filmed before the flight path was known.

The turn Hanjour made was a trivially simple, 330°, STANDARD RATE turn, performed at 25% power (essentially engine idle). No "top gun" maneuvers. No 5, 6, 7 G's. Nothing but a gentle, smooth turn at low speed & low power. Only after he rolled out & leveled the wings did Hanjour go to half, and then full throttle.

To find out what real pilots think, he needs to go someplace else. With real pilots posting.

A place I went to is the largest Professional Pilots website (in the world, I believe): Professional Pilot's Rumor Network. pprune.org. You'll have to register, but it's free.

These are professional pilots. They have no political agenda. They are interested in flying.

Here is my warning: they are sick & tired of 9/11 conspiracy nuts who say EXACTLY the same nonsense that zhiba has been pushing.

Nonetheless, after you register, you can go to their search function. Type in "Hanjour" & you'll get about 15 threads. In order to keep it short, I'd recommend that you read the ones labeled "A 9/11 Question" (about difficulty of maneuvers) and/or "Ground Effect & Airspeed".

But, if one is still unconvinced by these, by all means, read as many threads as you wish.

If zhiba were to go there, register & do a little search, he'd find out that his 10:1 advantage is, in the real world, a 1:100 disadvantage.

BTW, all turbine engines on airplanes that are mounted on pylons are connected to the airframe with shear pins. This is not for ground contact, or for FOD. Without them, in the event of a seized turbine bearings, the dynamic torque applied to the engine mounts (as a result of the very rapid deceleration of the turbine) would destroy the mount & structure to which it is attached. Bad news for planes.

So the engine detaches and there are automatic check valves in the fuel lines to (hopefully) stop fuel flow.
