Ronald Weinland hasn't posted anything on his website since the "apocalypse".

In his most recent interview http://www.cog-pkg.org/audio/downloa..._Interview.mp3, the following exchange takes place at 37.30:
Interviewer: "Just a logical next question, what happens if He doesn't come back on that date?"
Weinland: "Well then, then, you know, I won't have a job to do in that regard anymore. It will come to prove it wasn't, it wasn't true, that my job as a prophet wasn't true in the sense of the timing and everything else that's involved in, um, you know it just, that's what it is."
(Just in case he tries to revive his "prophecy").

There's this one: http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrl2.htm

But this is a bit more comprehensive: http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm

I noticed that both of Failed Prophet Ron's books are free for kindle on his website, so I downloaded them. Firstly, they are a great cure for insomnia, the writing style is so turgid and laboured. Secondly, his hatred for Catholicism and Europe is clearly evident.

The basic theme of the books is that most people worship in the wrong way (but some are more wrong than others). The prophetic parts of the books are retrofitting bits of Revelation to recent events, and extrapolating TEOTWAWKI from that. He's quite looking forward to Global ThermoNuclear War!!!, as this will be a vindication that worshipping on a Sunday is the biggest sin of all. I'll read a bit more if I can't sleep tonight, but I think I have the gist of them now.

It's a Seventh Day Adventist thing. They basically believe that going to church on Sunday is a one-way ticket to hell.

Indeed, that is the thrust of his argument. I've now ploughed through both books; he is convinced that Revelation predicts the formation and schisms in the Seventh Day Adventist Movement, and that the first four of the Seven Seals refer to incidents within the church. The later Seals refer to events in the wider world, and only those who repent and join his particular sect of Seventh Day Adventism will be spared.

Interestingly he hasn't edited the end of 2008 - God's Final Witness, which ends with:
Quote:
By the fall of 2008, the United States will have collapsed as a world power, or it will have begun its collapse and no longer exist as an independent nation within six months after that time. There is a marginal, six-month window of time that God has not yet revealed concerning this specific moment of time. This will be revealed some time soon after the distribution of this book begins [in Autumn 2006].
Douze points for honesty, but nil points for accuracy.

Through some dodgy etymology he contends that Great Britain is the home to one of the 12 tribes of Israel, and that the European Union (which he seems to think doesn't include Britain) is the Antichrist; and that Catholicism is, or will be, imposed on the whole of Europe as a state religion.

He sees the armies of the English speaking nations of the world being ranged against the 200 million strong armies of China and the East, and that they will be meeting for a one day battle at Megiddo, where God will halt the battle and Christ will return, and only the members of his church will be saved, and that will happen in 2008 2010 26/27 May 2012 fairly soon.

There's more, about false prophets, modern day Elijahs, the witnesses who will be dead in the streets of Jerusalem and so on. It's the usual apocalyptic nonsense, with a side order of Seventh Day Adventism. He's not updated his website with excuses yet, but I have little doubt that he'll be back soon, predicting a new date with all the fervour of the preceding dates, and he'll be just as wrong.

In spite of the fact that he has not gotten a single prediction right these past few years, he is sticking to his guns. In fact, in his latest BLOG he has gone for broke and predicted that Jesus will return on May 27, 2012. His financial activities are under investigation so that would turn out to be a very convenient date for him. This is his first RADIO INTERVIEW in nearly 3 years.

It will be interesting to hear what excuses he comes up with on May 28.

So what happens now on May 30th?

Interestingly enough, this is the date of Ronald Weinland's latest post on http://www.ronaldweinland.com/.

I haven't studied it in detail yet but it doesn't look like he is saying that his "job as a prophet wasn't true".

So how does Ronald Weinland account for the apparent failure of his prophecy in http://www.ronaldweinland.com?

Yeah, he seems to have also failed to realize that's the same baloney Camping tried to pull. I'm guessing, though, that most of Weinland's followers aren't accustomed to looking for contradictory insights.

That's funny. All of us here knew it wasn't going to happen in a physical manner while the man of god did not.

Please tell me he is not trying to predict the "physical" return for next year. Is that what he is saying?

The only thing predictable here is the fallback position all of these failed prophets rely upon - some variation of the old " it happened in the spirit" excuse.

Quote:
Now that the job of two witnesses is complete, there is one final phase of God’s work to be accomplished before His Son literally returns as King of kings. Then how is it that one can say May 27th is the “day” of His coming and still be true? The answer is exciting and inspiring to those who believe God, and it is nonsense to those who do not believe God. It is just that simple!

You got that part right!
