John Walters forgot to talk to Dr Craig Anderson of the University of Iowa. Otherwise, he would have added violent video games
Quote:
Let's face it, it's all bollocks. I've played every violent video game since Space Invaders, Ngggh!, I even played Doom since it was in beta GAH! and I've never had the urge to... must... kill! KILL PEOPLE WITH CHAINSAW! NYAAAAAAH! |

Is it just me or do these guys seem to say that whatever drug they are talking about at the moment is the most dangerous drug out there?

I always thought Canadian news reporters and comedians were the biggest threat to American youth.

Hungary!
Hungary!
The "Hungarian-born" (All quotes from this morning's National Post up here in Soviet Kanuckistan) "Mr. Soros" who is the "Billionaire [who] puts millions behind bid to dump Bush". Apparently the un-Patriotic Mr Soros doesn't like Ashcroft either. This kind of big money influence could destroy American Democracy as we know it! |

Bush's initiative
to counter the threats to young Americans
On January 29, 2001 George Bush made good on a campaign promise by announcing the creation, by executive order , of a new White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives . Bush gathered a group of religious leaders in Austin, Texas and said: "This is one of the most important initiatives that my administration will implement." "In every instance where my administration sees a responsibility to help people, we will look first to faith based organizations that have shown their ability to save and change lives." Bush signed an executive order he said would clear away "regulatory barriers that make private groups hesitate to work with government.'' Bush directed the departments of Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Labor and Education to open faith-based centers within 45 days to help eliminate regulatory and other obstacles to faith-based participation in providing social services. |

Who is a threat to young Americans?
If you mean, below 18 years of age... It's CARS! Cars kill them! More than anything else in the world. By a minimum factor of more than twice as many (as cancer). For accidental deaths, drowning is a distant second. If we're looking for "just non-fatal injuries", falling, getting hit by things, overexerting, getting cut (all very common and every-day), and... CARS. As far as I can tell, banning privately owned vehicles is the way to go, if you really want to protect the children. We could reduce our dependence on foreign oil drastically at the same time by banning these child killing contraptions immediately. For the year 1999-2000, according to CDC: http://webapp.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/leadcaus10.html Leading causes of death 1-17 #1 is unintentional injury, Cause of Death Number of Deaths Percentage of Deaths MV Traffic 4,648 57.9% Drowning 1,085 13.5% Fire/burn 601 7.5% Suffocation 302 3.8% Other Land Transport 225 2.8% Pedestrian, Other 213 2.7% Poisoning 198 2.5% Firearm 149 1.9% Fall 108 1.3% Other Transport 96 1.2% Struck by or Against 89 1.1% Natural/ Environment 80 1.0% Unspecified 70 0.9% Other Spec., classifiable 65 0.8% Pedal cyclist, Other 42 0.5% Other Spec., NECN 32 0.4% Machinery 23 0.3% Cut/pierce 6 0.1% Total Deaths 8,032 According to their injury statistics (2001 and later) http://webapp.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/nfilead2001.html 10 Leading Causes of Nonfatal Injury, United States 2002, All Races, Both Sexes, Disposition: All Cases To obtain the percentage of all injuries by cause, select the age group category at the top of each column. I consider a government that incarcerates people because of marijuana much more of a threat to its citizens than the government of Canada.

You know, I would mention a point or two about freedom, but I'd be preaching to the choir. All I have to say is this is one more thing that makes me happy I live in Canada.

I think this guy will have to be silenced.
I mean, we can't let everyone onto our evil plan now, can we? First the wacky tobaccy will be decriminalised, gays will be allowed to marry, and the next thing you know everyone will be bowing down to their Northern Overlords. Wait, forget I ever said that. We are not going to take over your country, and have no plans to do so. |

For at least 10 years the Anti Drug Lords have been warning us of the growing danger of ever more potent pot. They say it is more dangerous than ever because it is so much more potent these days.
They admit that it is freely available in every city in the country. And the sellers have no restraints on who they sell it to or where they sell it. Then they claim that pot is a "controled substance". It ain't controlled if it is freely available with no restriction on the potency or purity. If they want to "control" it, then license the production, potency, and distribution. Real control instead of pretend control... Nah. Too rational. Plus the dealers, prison guards, and drug agents would lose jobs, so they are all against any real control... |

No. B.C. Bud has always been one of the highest quality and we grow a friggin huge amount of it. Due to recent problems with rental homes being used as grow ops, it is now law that you have to disclose if your home has been used as a grow op when selling. There are some communities in B.C. where 20% of the rental homes are grow ops. As soon as you Mericans stop buying the stuff, we'll stop growing the stuff. (And for the reocrd, I've never touched any illegal drugs, only alcohol). |
