Leading beardy meets his demise

Dead

Abu Laith al-Libi has been killed in Waziristan.

I thought the US can't do operations on Pakistani soil? Wasn't that the entire point around everyone gasping at Obama's promise of a major strike if intelligence on Bin Laden came to light?

How unfortunate. I am truly in mourning. Not.

Reports are that it was done by a missile carried on a Predator drone.

I thought you were talking about my favorite lizard ... the Bearded Dragon, affectionately known as beardies (aka the wonderful lizard of oz) to their friends

You have insulted this wonderful reptile.

I don't think Obama was talking about an occasional missile strike from a drone. Though the one that was targeted at al Zawahiri (but he wasn't there) a while back caused riots all over Pakistan.

As I recall the bearded lizard shoots blood from its eyes in times of stress. I suspect Mr Abu Laith al-Libi exhibited similar behaviour in his last moments.

That's quite common among Leading Beardies when they are caught in a rapid oxidation event.

Squirting blood from the corners of the eyes is due to high blood pressure brought on by stress. I have only ever seen it in American (U.,S.) Horned Toads or Horned Lizards which look quite a bit like beardies but don't get nearly as big and are not closely related. Beardies are only found in Australia, Horned Toads in Texas and the American SW and northern Mexico.
