Ave Maria on a theremin... blowing spitballs at the Rock of Ages... I get all that, but...

How does one "high-hat" a monkey?

And nobody had to slaughter infants as part of the initiation ceremony? I guess times were simple then...

"Godless America, land that I love...."

You ignore or give the cold shoulder to 'high hat' someone. So treating the monkey as less than an equal.

I was laughing by the time the monkey first appeared.

"High Hat Monkey." Good name for a band. Or a sock puppet.

I think more organizations should make you swear in on a monkey.

Hell, I think we just ought to have more monkeys around in general.

Grayman, you will be punished for revealing our initiation secrets. The monkey has been dispatched!

And by the way, you can take off for Christmas anyway...we're atheists but not stupid.

Put your hand on the monkey and swear. LOL How corny. I like that he refuses because he wants Christmas holiday. LOL I wonder what Cecil was thinking when he made that.

Perhaps. But you may also want to read up on the Comstock laws of the late 1800s and early 1900s. I think that is what he is directly referring to.

It's interesting that you noticed that... I'd say the real unresolved sexual tension happens between the monkey and Bozo at 4:45... watch that monkey's hands...

The atheist leader was hot, but probably isn't as much of a looker anymore. I love that the guy who refuses to join the club is named 'Bozo'...I can't help but feel like that's a not so subtle dig that backfired...

I didn't realize we were supposed to kick people and beat them up when they refuse to renounce Christmas presents... I've been doing the atheist thing all wrong, I'm afraid. (It could be because I don't have an adorable little monkey to refrain from high hatting.)

No free speech, promotion of slander (or is it libel when you film written lies?) against a group that doesn't agree with you, and using the bribes of Christmas presents to entice kids to keep the faith. Gotta love those Christian values.

Thanks for sharing that great clip, grayman. It reminds me of a couple other period films, the one slandering blacks and the one slandering Mexicans. I'll see if I can find any links.

Nice stereotyping.

Some Christians might think that way. But don't claim that "Christian values" in general are against free speech, or any of the other things. All Christians are not the same as Jack Chick either.

Right, we're all going to he!! for not believing in the Christian god and you try to tell me I've stereotyped Christian values.

Of course, believe in the Christian god and get a reward for believing, go to heaven.

All Christian churches are houses of propaganda. Do you know of any that are offering people a choice of beliefs?

The only difference is in degree.
