I found my new trick shop of choice.

Now that I'm living closer to a major city, (Chicago), I have been able to identify a few decent shops, and I have found the best I've seen.

The reason they are the best: All, or at least almost all of the tricks are from blue-card bicycle decks. They order them specifically. Even the double-sided cards are blue bicycle stock. That allows me to keep a stacked deck of individual tricks that nobody questions.

The other reason: Cut-rate prices. I got "2 Card Monte" for $.69, "That's Impossible" for $3, and "mirror image", which would cost you $30, if you bought it individually, for $3.25. It's not a super-huge savings, but you'd be hard-pressed to get the same for twice the price.

The other OTHER reason... The people that work there are all genuinely magicians. After about 25 demonstrations, I was only able to know how they did the trick 6 times or so. They are all genuine performers and know what they're doing, and even when I knew how it was done, I was still impressed. When they failed, I was able to tell them what they might not have done, and they took it with amazing grace, (no pun intended) and asked about how they could have improved.

Look for one of the employees to be on "America's Got Talent" (he has an open audition on Wednesday).

Anyhoo, It's PJ's Trick Shop, in Arlington Heights, IL. Really happy so far.

I mentioned learning how to do Copperfield's "Grandpa's Aces" and one of the employees showed me his own take on it that still has my head spinning.

Got 4 great card tricks and a gag gift for less than $20.
