I hate April Fools Day

I hate April 1st. It's lame. I'm gullible. I'm easily tricked. I either forget it's April 1st and believe everything I see or hear no matter how outrageous, or I remember what day it is and refuse to speak to anyone or read anything.

I hate April 1st.

Did you miss the memo? In Leap Years, we skip April 1 and go right to April 2.

I always kind of look forward to the fake news stories usually put up by NPR and similar outfits.
Some will sucker you in quite a ways before the light dawns.

Past items include "portable" zip codes (so you could keep the old one if you moved) and the annual spaghetti harvest in Italy....

Yeah right I just realized I fell for a very elaborate April Fools joke. I was looking at the new releases and saw that Blue Man Group had two CDs coming out. I was so happy until A) I remembered the release date was April First, and B) Blue Man Group doing Spanish Marimba is too absurd for even them.

Agreed, it's most definitely lame. You get these jerks making ridiculous, absurd statements, thinking that they're being funny, when in fact they are not saying anything any more ridiculous or absurd then they do the other 364 days of the year..

Today, I took a pair of pants and stuffed them with newspaper. I attached a pair of boots to the them and tucked them just in front of the back wheel of a car in our parking lot. I had the legs sticking out and twisted at ugly angles. It was a setup for another coworker to see on arrival at 11 am today.

They didn't notice.

Did anyone catch the NPR "All Things Considered" review of the sub-minimalist composer Simon Fluegel with his new CD, "B-Flat and Other Notes"?

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...oryId=89284569

Warning: don't play this at work. You'll be ...uh... stigmatized.

I heard this NPR review of "B-Flat and Other Notes" while I was driving on the interstate. When they said the reviewer contributes to ATC "once a year" that seemed like a tip-off, but I still googled the thing every way I could think of, which is how I found your post and joined this forum, all that so I could say ... wow...that was ... fascinating on whatever level you choose. Wish I could have said all that in a single unpronouncable symbol!

That's exactly the problem. Especially spending some time reading this board, one encounters so many ridiculous claims and beliefs, that most of the April fool's pranks seem credible by comparisson.
