No Saving Grace
I'm writing a whole mess of hymns these days.
"Amazing Grace" is not original to it's tune. Why should the Devil have all the good songs? Why not? No saving grace, O no not one, Indeed no grace at all! We're all alone and there is none, To catch us when we fall! No ancient wretch's flowing blood, Can wash my sins away! Yet in the void beyond the mud, I'll not be made to pay! The strong take from the weak, my love, and have done all along! But we take comfort from above, The smart take from the strong! 'Twas nature made our mind an heart, And this is nature's law: That she who shaped our every part, Is red in tooth and claw! Whoe'er proclaim blessed are the meek, do man from man divide! When turnest thou the other cheek, Thou shalt be crucified! |
