30,000 New Homes Planned for West Bank

HEADLINE: Construction of 30,000 homes planned in new W. Bank suburbs
By The Associated Press

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/974121.html
The Palestinian Investment Fund says it plans to build 30,000 affordable apartments in the West Bank (and Gaza) to ease a growing housing crunch.

How many of these homes will be made available to jewish buyers? Is there some sort of prohibition against jews living in these new communities? Just wonderin'

Is this where Bears Sterns (or however you spell that den of thieves) is going to make its money back?

All mortgaged with ARMs?

Oh, now you think it's an issue of religion? You have always said it is a "racial" thing.

So hypothetically if a group of Amish people in the United States wanted to create an Amish only community (which they do) is that something we should condemn? Is there some strong reason why you feel we should be uncomfortable with it?

Do you think it's possible someone could hold an opinion that's more nuanced than a blanket condemnation or approval? Do you think maybe it would be wise to look beyond just seizing an opportunity to bash the group you want to bash and to consider why people would want to form such a community?

But it's their land. Israeli houses on their land are another matter.

Almo, what makes it "their land"? How do you figure it's theirs?

What about Hebrew University in the West Bank?
Is that sitting on palestinian land?

I already own a home in Israel. But, if there is an option for Israelis to purchase one of these new places, I might look into it, as an investment. Apparently, there is some good money to be made in this project.
