Ever wonder what it's like to sail near Antartica?

Well I know a couple of co-workers are out at sea sailing near Antarctica on the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer. Here's a link to the main page to find out details about the research cruise:

http://censeam.niwa.co.nz/outreach/nathaniel_b._palmer

and it turns out they are posting a blog of sorts so here is the direct link:

Enjoy!

My brother and sister-in-law went to Antarctica a few years back. They had to run two holiday slides nights because they were overbooked.

Antarctica is a place I want to vist. I like penguins
Actually, I want to visit the South Pole (I'm not picky as to which).
However, they don't like tourists, for ecological reasons. I can't fault them for that.
Oh well, I'll just go outside the city next winter and take a photo. Nobody will know the difference...
