Einar Skinnarland, war hero, dead at the age of 84. He participated in repeated sabotage efforts to prevent production of heavy water for German nuclear efforts at a plant in Norway.

Kirk Douglas starred in the 'Heroes of Telemark', but some of the real heroes went on to do other things.

One of the men Skinnarland worked closest with during the heavy-water sabotage, Knut Haugland, was also a member of Thor Heyerdahl's famous Kon Tiki expedition. I've had the pleasure of meeting him. Another, Torstein Raaby, died on an expedition to the North Pole in 1964.

I should think it's hard to find many Norwegians more famous for their actions during WWII than these guys.
