Old trick with new ending . . .

Even if you know this trick, just play along anyway . . .

Pick a number between 1 and 10 and keep it secret.

Multiply this number by 9.

If this number has 2 digits, add them together.

Subtract 5 from this number.

Equate this result to a letter of the alphabet (1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C etc).

Think of a country begining with that letter.

Think of an animal begining with the second letter of that country.

What was it's name?
How did the owner describe it?
Does that make sense?

Hard to post without giving the game away.

Max Maven did this on World's Greatest Magic. I learned how to force a number after watching it just once, but that's because I'm prone to thinking mathematically. Do other people tend to figure it out easily?

Want a different version of it? Go with yours for the first part. think of an animal that begins with the last letter of the country you thought of. Now think of a fruit that begins with the last letter of that animal.

Denmark, Kangagroo and Orange are the most obvious options, and the one 95% of people choose.

Hmm, I was expecting a web page about Djibouti.

Fair warning to mentalists: Djibouti will always be my answer to this trick.

I've done this before, but even the first time I did it, I chose Dominican Republic and Ocelot.

When a friend tried it on me, it wound up being a color starting with "p" and he guessed pink when I'd thought of purple.
