Child Killer Samir Kuntar to receive state welcoming in Lebanon

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull

I don't understand why a man who killed a family should receive a hero’s welcome. I mean, what good did this man ever do? People who attend this event, including the "pro western", Fouid Sanora, should be ashamed of them selves. We shouldn't give the Lebanese government any money if they are going to celebrate the return of a man who killed an entire family.

This sets a very bad precedent for Israel.

It’s hard to imagine any way this can result in anything good. It will encourage the terrorists to continue taking more hostages, and lets them know they don’t even have to keep their hostages alive.

This is one of the most counter-productive, self-defeating moves I’ve ever seen.
ETA: HUGE win for Hizbullah.

A. Israel holds no more Lebanese. There is nobody to trade for anymore.
Ipso-Facto, no incentive to make such a raid again.

B. This type of arrangment was precedented already. (See: January 29, 2004)

That being said, the IDF has to still consider the Cpl. Shalit incident in this context, as Israel holds thousands of palestinian prisoners. So, yes, the precedent vis-a-vis the palestinians continues to exist.

It's Hezbollah and Lebanon we're talking about here. You might have missed that.

This was the most horrendous decision by Israel I have ever seen.

They traded 2 dead bodies...for living evil murders? what a horrible trade..and a horrible precident that has just been set.

All the terror groups can now say "we can capture israelis, torture them, kill them, and then trade the remains for our brothers in israeli prisons".

what a horrible day for israel.

Well that's the kind of crap they have to deal with every day. Decisions that are usually lose-lose.

I agree 100%. But the straw that breaks the camel, for me, is the release of a man who pulvarized a small girls head into pulp with the butt of a rifle. Israel needs leadership.

The exchange was hailed by the Palestinian Authority and viewed as a national holiday in Lebanon. In Israel, however, the public was deeply divided over the wisdom of the deal.

And here we are at the same point, once again.

Well then, the bad precedent was the first such lopsided prisoners for bodies exchange. The point remains the same. It is a bad precedent.

Maybe E.J. Armstrong will pop in to explain that the torturing regime of George Bush gave Lynndie England et al a hero's welcome back from Iraq.

Oh, wait...

Why should there be? He was simply excersizing his god-given right to kill Jews.

So what evil thing did the evil Israelis do to force this perfectly innocent and loving man to do such terrible things?

Surely this man deserves compensation for the trauma of having filthy Jew-blood touch his skin. Pay up Israel!

This is really quite horrific. To quote a fictional french police inspector... "The world is inside out, the world is upside down".

Well, at least Kantar is sorry and says he won't do it again! Oh, wait...

Had an Israeli, soldier or civilian, deliberately shot an Arab parent to death in front of his young child, and then smashed in her skull with a rifle butt, in front of eyewitnesses, he would have been arrested, tried, and probably sentenced to life in prison, by the Israeli government. He would have also been condemned by Israeli society as a vicious monster. In contrast, this bloodthirsty psychopath was welcomed as a hero in Lebanon.

As long as this attitude toward wanton and deliberate murder, and worship of death and those who bring it persists in the Arab world, there will be no peace in the Middle East, regardless of how much we appease them, even if we allow them their true goal, which is the destruction of the state of Israel and its Jewish inhabitants.

And here is another little detail: Bodies' Abuse Made ID Difficult

Quote:
"verification process yesterday was very slow, because, if we thought the enemy was cruel to the living and the dead, we were surprised, when we opened the caskets, to discover just how cruel. And I'll leave it at that."
What is he complaining about? Did someone make these soldiers wear panties on their heads? Or flush a Torah down the toilet?

And yes, I am curious where E.J. Armstrong is hiding.

If the USA doesn"t support the government in Lebanon, then Iran and Syria will support Nasrallah and Hezbollah and they will take over Lebanon with a coup. That is what Ahmadinejad is trying to do. Ahmadinejad is trying to use Lebanon to atack Israel.

I don't know that understanding the why of it is quite possible, but understanding that they do is important in understanding what Israel faces day in and day out.
