The Allah beef!

Sorry if it was posted before...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7520149.stm

After so many Jesuses on toasts, now its time for Allah's name written on beef!

Of course, imagery not allowed. Only letters. Pretty consistent.

Beat this, Jeebus!

They've been selling this in the states for years. Two Allah-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun.

Pork?

Nope.

You also can't get one with YHWH. At least not the original stuff.

I wonder why nowadays its so hard to get anything with "Zeus", "Gukumatz", "Ahura Mazda", etc.

From the thread title, I thought this was going to be a complaint about Allah.

It is nice to note that pareidolia is an equal opportunity phenomenon...either there is no one true god, or he is just messing with all of us.

I don't know Arabic, but I guess the "W" looking thing is close. The "initial" stroke, on the right, though seems to be missing. Any Arabic experts around?

You mean someone butchered Allah's cow? The one and only true god is gonna be some pissed.

The other one and only true gods are snickering. "Hey Allah, when are you having that barbecue again?"

I'm a little concerned about the gods the people on this planet worship.

Ancient gods used to have great and epic battles - wars in the firmament and on earth.

These days they can only compete by writing on food... Basically God branding.

Is this the deity equivalent of "Drink Coke"?

Man, is that the picture? Looks more like a cow chip than an allah-beef patty.

Doesn't surprise me, though, that the FSM goes around graffitoing the names or images of false gods on cow chips - or on items designed, in her wisdom, to be people poop soon. It's her sense of humor that confirms her as the one true god. I could never worship a god that didn't laugh derisively at the so-called "competition."

I see a whole load of foil stencils being made, and being strapped to leafy public plants, Faces, Scripture, a few off colour jokes, maybe some along the lines of "Give it a rest will yous, I'm pondering up here, The GodsterTM",

Or maybe cold smoke some bacon with a stencil,
Hot brand some healthy Allah Lincolnshire sausages (now with 35% Less Fatwah)

Is this how Allah decided to Mecca name for himself? It really is too bad it's not pork, as that would put the ham in Muhammed. Can I get corn on the Kabaa with that?

I wouldn't call myself an Arabic expert, but I know a bit.

Yeah, it seems the alef (that character on the right you pointed out) is either missing or the people seeing it are assuming it's that squiggle before what I presume are the two lams (نا).

Much like the "Jesus in a pancake" and "Mary in a stain" claims, the picture doesn't look like anything until the viewer is prompted on what to look for, then the brain works out the patterns to try to resolve the description to what's being seen. Sure, after being prompted I can see in the picture how it could be thought to say Allah-- or, literally, A-L-L-H, sans the hamza-- but it seems about as accurate as this example displaying how people thought some of the tsunami (of 2004) waves spelled out Allah.

I guess you can do the same type of pretexting to say the beef also looks to have the Arabic for the word "exciting" (again, sans the extra marks for vowel sounds).

مثير

Sorry, nothing rude. I don't know Arabic well enough to know slang yet.
