Goin' to Vegas

Last minute thing, I'm goin' o Las Vegas. Off the top of my head, I can only think of two things magic-related. UNLV has some out of print books I would like to at least skim. I want to see Mac King. Can anyone recommend a magic shop, and/or anything else?

Denny & Lee used to have a store. It's probably still there (it shows up in google). There's also Houdini's (http://www.houdini.com/). When I was there years ago it was geared more toward tourists and laymen, but might still be worth checking out.

Mac King is a good choice. Lance Burton's show is also worth seeing.

Thanks, dudes. Shiz, I could have sworn a couple guys had mentioned King's show cost only 13 bucks. That did sound scandalously low. I've never seen Burton live.

I think King's show is more like $25 or $30 although you can probably find discount tickets for less. Burton's show is (or was) very reasonable when I went, but that was 7 or 8 years ago. At the time I got tickets in the balcony for about $35- not bad when many other shows were $90-$100 or more.

Check out Criss Angel's new store in The Luxor. Lots of fun stuff in there. Then place $50 bucks on 37 Black!

I don't know the costs of Burton's show, and I've never seen him in Vegas. (I have seen him do short sets when he returns to his home town of Louisville; that's also where I saw Mac King and Marty Polio).

Burton is very charming and quite talented, but I prefer King's genre, and I prefer Polio's to King's.

You wouldn't regret seeing any of them.

Penn and Teller and Copperfield are playing at the moment, if you're prepared to fork out the coin.
