It will be awesome to have her back on the show. If anyone doubts that intelligence and a sense of humor can turn a decent looking chick into a smoking hottie, I give you exhibit Fey.

Was it something creative and funny or just playing on the fake bikini photo image and the book burning vendetta persona the commies have been spinning?

Joint press conference with Amy Poehler as Hillary. It was hilarious.

Tina looked so much like Palin it was spooky. For a brief moment at the beginning of the sketch I wondered if it really was Palin. They have had Obama on the show.

Palin was talking about how close she is to being in the White House and Hillary was struggling to contain herself. At one point Hillary mentions the Bush Doctrine and Palin sheepishly smiles and says "I have no idea what that is."

Holy...

SNL political impersonations generally stink. (They can be funny enough, but you could never be fooled.) Fey absolutely nailed it. This could very well be the silver lining if McCain wins.

They were going to do it last night, with Senator Obama as guest, but he begged off because it would be unseemly for a Presidential Candidate to be doing comedy while people were potentially dying in the hundreds in the hurricane.

It would be rather as if John McCain and George W Bush had celebrated McCain's birthday during Katrina. Oh. Wait. They did;

From an Obama POV MAD TV has him down. Especially with last night. Key got the speech of Obama dead on. Also IMO MAD TV has been much stronger than SNL for a long time now and they have pretty much mastered the music video parody.

Except for the host intro, I figured most of Michael Phelps' material would be cringeworthy and it was. Derek Jeter and LaBraun James were more funny during their sketches and Tom Brady was absolutely hilarious during his Sexual Harassment training film as was Payton Manning with his United Way/Boys and Girls Club PSA parody.

Between what she's done for NBC on SNL (and could do in the future) and 30 Rock, they should give Tina Fey a gold plated office.

I fully agree.
Actually, I thought Payton Manning was hilarious. He had a natural comedic charm which worked very well. I'd like to see him back.

Yup. She's the funny.

Although, I think the cast on SNL right now is very strong. Although I'm not certain about the new guys just yet...

Palin says she has dressed up as Tina Fey on Halloween. She says she did have trouble replicating her facial scars.

I wonder why the make-up folks at SNL feel the 37 year-old Poehler does not require any appliances to play the 61 year-old Hillary?

IIRC, she was wearing a wig. It's a live show, I think they only use appliances if the lack thereof would prove distracting. Not adding wrinkles doesn't shatter the illusion it's not Clinton.

McCain spokesperson Carly Fiorina today: "disrespectful"..."sexist"
Quote:
I think that, of course, the portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial. I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance. She has a lot of substance.
...??? Huh?

Hey McCain, grow a pair. "Gotta keep your sense of humor," right?

Woah. First off, we don't know that yet, and secondly, you give away that you are happy about it. And don't deny it, the "Too bad..." sarcasm gives it all away.

In typical liberal fashion these days.. bad news for Americans (or soldiers) that can be used for political advantage? Hell ya we will run with that. Don't even think twice about the people hurt in the process. Something bad happened that we can spin into our "McCain=Bush 2.0" message. HOORAY!

I'm not the least bit happy about it nor rubbing my hands in glee. Most of my retirement money is in the market.

That was a poorly worded post in which I didn't notice had flaws until after the edit window had closed. You can see I wrote "Everyday" when I meant to write "Every day."

In the second sentence I meant to write "Too bad for McCain's campaign that the market crash has trumped that play." I'm saying that McCain would have loved to keep the news cycle talking about sexism rather than the failing economy, but now he can't.

It's not a good thing.

Couple of possibles on the no-appliances for Poehler's Clinton - she could be allergic to latex, or the need for quick changes preclude anything so time-consuming.

Because he or she was criticizing a post that I agree was badly worded, and I wanted to clarify what I meant.
