Last nights "The Daily Show": Reason & Religion
The genius Jon Stewart (and, of course, his writers) stuck a pretty good one to organized religion.
They were showing a story about the Anglican Bishop and some of his critics. One Anglican priest objected to the bishop because: *I believe biblical religion to be based in reason* To which Stewart replies: *Yes...biblical religion was based on reason....until 2 nudists took dietary advice from a talking snake*. How I love that show. P.S. I use asterisks instead of quotes because I can't remember the exact quote, only what they were aiming to say. If I see a repeat I'll try to catch the exact quotes. Edit: Spelling |

I wish I had time to watch more daily show. I'd trust their news analysis over most of the carp that's out there right now.

I liked the title card they had on the Robinson piece: "Beating the Bishop"

Note: All times mentioned here are Central, please adjust to your time zone accordingly
If it was on their 10pm show last night, it should be repeated at 6pm tonight. I'll definitely check it out. |

You'd be surprised just how many people get their fair and balanced news from The Daily Show.

I thought it was funny too, especially for those who interpret the Bible events all literally. |

T'ai Chi, don't be a dumb a**. If you don't take it all as literal then you can't take any as literal.

Believers can take any part of the bible as literal and disregard the rest. That is what the majority of them do already. They have to do this because the bible isn't consistent. So they just pick and chose what they want. Thats why there are over 1200 denominations of christianity in the USA alone. They believe and just pick the parts that suit their beliefs.
