No it isn't. At least it isn't suprising.
If the poor are going to shoulder less of the tax burden then it is imperative that the middle class do on the grounds that the rich always contribute "less than their fair share" to tax revenue. The way tha tthe rich redeem themselves is by being (by and large) the catalyst for economic activity which enables the middle classes to provide the tax revenue. What would be your alternative proposal ? |
