16 years ago on this date, Feb 26, 1993, a truck bomb weighing in 1500lbs
exploded in basement garage of WTC complex. Terrorists original intent
was to damage the structural supports columns and cause one tower to
topple into another. Failed to accomplish goal, but killed 6 people and
injured 1000 more (mostly by smoke inhalation)

On many Twofwer forums have seen all sort of wild claims that FBI made
and set off bomb. Terrorists were only "patsies" setup to take blame among other nonsense

Should remember the 6 who died

John DiGiovanni, age 45, Kerr Manufacturing Company; Dental Supply salesman. Visitor to the World Trade Center.
Robert Kirkpatrick, age 61, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Senior Structural Maintenance Supervisor for the World Trade Center.

Stephen Knapp, age 47, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Chief Mechanical Supervisor for the World Trade Center.

William Macko, age 57, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Assistant Chief Mechanical Supervisor for the World Trade Center.

Wilfredo Mercado, age 37, International Hilton Company; Purchasing Agent for Windows on the World.

Monica Rodriguez Smith, age 35, (and her unborn child) Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; World Trade Center Maintenance / Mechanical Unit Secretary.

Well...the twoofers would say that those 6 people who died didn't actually die. There in the same warehouse where all the people from UA93 and AA75 are being held. Or something like that.

Omar Abdel-Rahman's a patsy? Maybe somebody should tell that to the victims of the Egyptian Luxor Massacre.

I looked into this once, originally from that sort of truther mindset. There is the evidence of FBI operative Emad Salem, who was undercover with the plotters, saying stuff like 'we already started the bomb, built with FBI money, to blow up the WTC,' etc. I think this part is true, but Salem himself recorded it, and it sounds more to me like an extortion attempt - he was threatening to claim these things, and by recording it, actually doing so.

Unlike the twofers I dont live in a fantasy conspiracy world - friend of mine worked at AGL welding supply in Clifton NJ. Everyone there was interrogated by the FBI and later
testify at trial to identify terrorist (Nidal Ayyad) who bought the tanks of compressed
hydrogen to enhance the bomb. Another friend was paralegal at Allied Signal in Morristown -watched when FBI showed up several days after bombing to arrest and
"perp" walk him out....

Wow, that had to be strange. I only remember enough that a lot of that was put together in New Jersey. I understand they had hoped to topple one tower into the other? That would have been insanely destructive, intrducing a whole massive lateral aspect that 9/11 didn't even have.
