Critical Mass - The Official Podcast Of The Sydney Atheists

A relative newcomer to the podcast world, but Critical Mass has very quickly become one of my favourite podcasts. A search for Sydney Atheists in iTunes should help you find it. Enjoy.

Cheers,

Chris

Isn't Critical Mass the bunch of cyclists who disrupt peak hour traffic every now and then in Sydney and Melbourne?

lionking: that is one thing the real Critical Mass does, but do you know why?

It's a way of protesting urban hatred of bicyclists and the way bicyclists are routinely injured by hateful or neglectful drivers, blamed for the accidents by everybody regardless of the fact it's almost always the car's fault, their lawsuits are ignored, the police won't help us, and cities refuse to build safe bike lanes even though the number of bicyclists is increasing.

And it's not just in those 2 cities in Australia. They're all over the USA, too.

Yeah, one sure way to alleviate "hatred of cyclists" (which I don't think is widespread anyway) is to pick peak hour on a Friday as a time to block major roads out of the city.

I hate cyclists...I have to scrap them off my hood every few days or they eat into the paint.

Luckily, two of the regulars on the podcast in question (which is nothing to do with bikes) are Whining Pommie Brits.

You can understand British, right?

;-)
