Card Star - Premise?

I've been asked to do a magic act for the local amateur theatre group - they're doing an 'old tyme' music hall.

I thought it would be the ideal oportunity to pull out the old card star that's been sitting on display in my lounge since I brought it cheap at an auction.

I've been playing with it and I really want to include it, but I've having trouble trying to get some patter / routine for it.

What exactly is the premise for the Card Star? How do I introduce it, why is it there etc?

Any ideas for some stories / patter I can use?

Umm...

I just did this for trhe first time in front of an 'audience'. The reaction was gratifying... (even though i didn't say much about it...)

Things I need to do:

* Have the 6 volunteers stand up before I throw the cards
* Mention something about "I'm going to seperate your cards out by touch (blah blah something)

Oh - and practise (with my assistant/s)
