Really good holiday gift for a child

OK besides that really lame basic magic kit you get at the toy store, this is a great gift. I found it at the local book store and bought up all the copies (3) to give out as gifts. I actually didn't read it all, as it seems to give out a LOT of secrets that real magicians use (I like to be fooled).

Anyway, as an educator I think a child who read this book, or learned some of the "tricks" would be less likely to be fooled in the future by woo woo claims. I'm practicing a few of the tricks to use on my students, and have them try to figure out how I did them.

That sounds like a great idea, kittynh! Giving them this kind of knowledge I too hope will help to develope good critical thinking skills in their young minds.

Be sure to keep us updated on this!

For some other really neat holidays gifts for kids, go to Andrew's website, www.weirdthings.com.
He's got a new book out called "Body Morphing" that shows kids how to do really cool tricks. His other books and videos are available there too. His "Wizard School" dvd is also available on our website.

Uh oh....I just did a promotion for a commercial website. I just broke a rule I think.

oooh Linda! That looks like FUN! I was aiming for the under 10 crowd with the book though. But I think the 3-5 year old crowd would enjoy body morphing too.
