Resources for Debunking Zeitgeist?

I'd appreciate some help in regards to looking for resources that debunks the Zeitgeist films that say the Federal reserve is illegal and not run by our government.

I have a friend who just came across them and has been going on about them. I wish to present to him other views.

Been there -- done that

There's already a long thread about Zeitgeist here. I believe you will be able to find what you're looking for there.

I highly recommend the site conspiracyscience.com. It debunks every claim from Zeitgeist, using a huge amount of sources. Skeptic magazine also wrote an article about Zeitgeist, but only part 1.

There are links to both of these sites on the wikipedia article for Zeitgeist. I know because I put them there.

Use this brief summary for a short version history of the Federal Reserve system. Follow the links used as sources for more in-depth information. The Fed as we know it today is the third iteration and the system of central banking goes back to the 'Founding Fathers', which displays the lie in the Zeitgeist copy-pasting of Aaron Russo's nonsense.

A user from these forums called Edx is doing videos addressing specific points made in teh first film, focusing on the 2nd part, which addresses 9/11.
This is his page.

Check it out from time to time because he's doing the videos right now. He's begun recently so we can expect more.

First, verse yourself in reality. Then gorge on facts, stir in some "truth" and bake until the Zeitgeist is well and truly done (i.e. dead). Garnish with logic.

Well, ignorance is what leads people to believing Zeitgeist.
