Disabling an annoying Windows message
Wondering if there is a way to get rid of a windows message whenever the wireless is disable by plugging in a LAN line. In the advance configuration of the wireless adapter is to "disable wireless when lan line plug in" if you enable that option, you will get a windows message everytime that says the wireless has been taken off line because of a LAN line gets plug into the laptop. Does anyone know how to disable that message?

This is almost certainly not a windows message but from a manufacturer's proprietry bit of software. Toshiba is the biggest culprit, iirc, but HP/Compaq have been known to do it too. There will be a setting, but where it is depends on the brand and the version of the software.
P.S. I had to quote the message and type this here because the forum keeps telling me my message is too short. |

I have a Toshiba laptop; on the front edge near where the headphone/mic plug-ins are, there's a small switch that disables my wireless card. Look around, you might be surprised.
What brand/model are you using? |

It is on Dell Laptops, this is an issue at work. The window that pops up says "Windows Reminder" then gives the message. We are trying to find a way to remove it because people with the laptops do not like to see the message pop up.
The switches are in the BIOS, but they do not want the wireless disabled, just disable when plug into an ethernet cable. Then re-enable the wireless when the ethernet cable is taken out. |

I thought that was an option in Dell Quickset? I don't know for sure, because I always remove Dell Quicket because it's pish.
