Can't remember magician's name
I've been racking my brain for months, should have thought about this place before. I hope someone can help before I go mad.
British On TV in the mid to late 80's Late night TV because of his act Did really gruesome stuff. We've all seen women cut in half, but he had it done length ways with loads of blood and gore spurting everywhere. Who was he? I want to see some of his stuff on Youtube or DVD Cheers guys |

It's a pleasure.
![]() Simon's Knives trick was pretty cool as I remember it, he stuck four or five daggers into his body, in one side of his shoulder and out the other etc. Looking at his stuff on YouTube it looks a bit dated now but it was very 80's hair and shoulder pads. Small Daniels told me Simon had retired from doing magic and I think he is now a lifestyle guru or something. I also heard that he organises Murder Mystery weekends. |

Gosh yes.
He took a unique turn on tricks I'd never seen performed quite that way before (was he on C4? Seem like it should have been) like cutting in half lengthways, and not only stabbing a knife through his forearm, but then going on to saw it up and down the length of his arm with blood spurting all over ![]() Even I use to sit there going ughhhhh and the female member of the audience screaming and squirming in their seats. The ex hated me watching his shows Now I'm off to check YouTube

James Randi was also on the Secret Cabaret.
Simon Drake did a trick where he was impaled on a spike then the lights went down and that was the end. I also saw David Copperfield do the same and then reappear as if to saw, "Look folks I'm OK". http://www.houseofmagic.co.uk/public.html Link to SD's magic show. |

As far as I'm aware, that is untrue. http://www.houseofmagic.co.uk/ I e-mailed them last month to inquire about their public show in January, and whilst the couldn't give me a definite date, it appears they are still running. Cheers, Chris |

Indeed, I can only apologise for the duff information given to me by Small Daniels.
![]() It is great to know that Simon is still in the business. |

Hmmm, that's odd. This part reminds me a bit about that short story by Edgar Allan Poe, about a guy who organizes a party and invites people to contemplate replicas of themselves dying in horrible, bloody deaths:
